Effectiveness of Microfinance in Enhancing Socio-economic Status of Rural Farmers through Entrepreneurship
Summary. Microfinance institutions effectively improve rural farmers' socio-economic status by providing small loans that stimulate income-generating activities and asset accumulation. A study of 200 farmers in Nepal found that access to microcredit, savings programs, and training strengthens decision-making abilities and livelihood sustainability. The research recommends government support through agricultural loans and microcredit schemes to further advance rural entrepreneurship and development.
