Agribusiness Growth And Innovations In Dairy Farming And Allied Industries: Value-Added Products, Technology Adoption, And Rural Development In Tumkur District, Karnataka

Summary. In Tumkur District, Karnataka, only 14% of dairy farmers produce value-added products, yet those who do earn significantly higher incomes. Modern technology adoption also boosts profitability. The study identifies major barriers: inadequate cold storage, high production costs, price volatility, and limited training. Seven agribusiness models—including cooperative networking, value-added processing, and market linkage—are proposed to strengthen rural dairy farming and increase farmer incomes.
