Possibility of Renewable Energy Solutions Usage in Rural Areas of Western Balkans: Fuzzy-Rough Approach

Summary. This study identifies the most suitable renewable energy sources for rural areas in the Western Balkans using expert assessment and multi-criteria decision-making methods. Researchers evaluated six renewable energy alternatives against nine criteria and found solar energy plants to be the optimal solution for rural communities, while hydropower ranked as least suitable. The findings were verified through sensitivity analysis and additional decision-making methods.
